Report
Tara Rehard Alternate A grade Report 2/8/2024 WRTG 394 Professor Introduction When writing we are writing for an audience. The audience may be our primary audience that is reading our work or may even be a secondary audience that is reading our work. In this report I will give an example of a primary audience and a secondary audience for my report from this class this semester. My report was on the issue of my employer not having any options for food or snack purchases in the workplace since the pandemic Covid-19. Definition of primary audience Lumen learning (n.d.) states that your primary audience is who your writing or your work in intended for. The ones who you are writing to or writing for would be your primary audience. Definition of Secondary Audience Also, according to lumen learning (n.d.) the secondary audience would be the group that are not true stakeholders and the ones who the writing was not specifically meant to go towards. Discussion of Primary and Secondary Audience in Your Research Report In my report my primary audience would be the Human Resource representative and Employee Relations representative as they are the two people in our building who would be responsible for making the change. For my report I see the secondary audience mainly being other employees in our building and our company. Other employees in our building will want to read as they are the ones who will ultimately be impacted by this change with in our building. Other employees in our company but not in our building might also read the report to get ideas on changes they can make to impact their buildings. Conclusion In this report I discussed the difference between what your primary audience is and what your secondary audience is. After 6 weeks of this class and knowing the difference between primary and secondary audiences I now know how I can word things differently to be aimed towards different audiences.
