Hand Washing Techniques Ramona Jones 9-9-23 Data
1 Activity 1 Data Table 1 Treatment group Number of “contaminated” spots counted No wash 7 Quick wash 5 Good wash 1 1. What was the main difference you saw between your routine hand washing technique and the Good wash from the manual? The main difference between my routine hand washing and the good wash was the use of a brush to clean underneath each of my nails. Even when I thoroughly wash my hands normally, I never use a brush to clean underneath each of my nails. 2. Which part of your hands did you find the most difficult to clean? I found that it was most difficult to clean my nails. I usually attempt to clean it with my hands and cleaning it with a brush made it easier but it was still harder than the rest of my hands. 3. When examining your lab coat or lab apron after the Quick wash, you probably saw little spots of “contamination”. How can you explain that? When washing my hands, I don’t put my hands downward to make sure that no water splashes. Therefore, the water does splash around which could account for the spots of contamination. © 2018 Carolina Biological Supply Company
