2 Discussion Thread- Seth Dodge Thank you for sharing your opinions on sports marketing and the most recent basketball tournament, "The Basketball Tournament." Your observations on Puma's exclusive sponsorship of the event, the promotion of other firms, and the peculiar method in which the game ends were intriguing. Advertising companies during athletic events is a common technique in sports marketing. When we think of biblical marketing methods, we think of Proverbs 27:23, which states, "Be sure you know the condition of your flocks; give careful attention to your herds." This scripture serves as a warning to use caution in our economic transactions and to safeguard our assets, particularly the reputation of our brands. While doing external research, I found an article by Salam and Kaas (2020). This article investigates the relationship between fan identification and sports sponsorship and how corporations might use this relationship to grow their brands. According to Salam and Kaas (2020), the ultimate objective of any sponsorship campaign is to persuade people to purchase and use the sponsor's products, and this goal is more likely to be met when supporters feel a closer connection to the team. Using a sponsor's product is positively connected with all event, sponsor, and sponsor evaluation factors. Therefore, Salam and Kaas (2020) underline the need to build deep emotional ties with fans to increase brand loyalty and income. The odd finish of "The Basketball Tournament" game is surely a good approach for attracting fans and promoting the tournament's laws. As we consider biblical values, Ecclesiastes 9:10 instructs us to give our best in anything we do, including sports. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might," the verse above says, "for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." In conclusion, your personal experience and examples in support of your dispute on sports marketing and "The
3 Basketball Tournament" are outstanding. You can present a well-rounded approach by including external research and biblical themes.
