2 Activity I Sketch how you might refute this claim using the following: A theoretical argument Theoretically, advertising impacts profitability rate; hence, having new clients helps develop and expand an organization. The organization can sell additional items to the customers because of the initiative, which will increase advertising costs and generate income (Prince, 2023). The approach is unpopular when a business acquires more money to market its services. The initiative will lower sales rather than increase its earnings, resulting in ineffective advertisements. Data Snapchat lost almost $750 million since it aired a viral ad that made users fight Chris Brown or slap Rihanna. Hence, the ad led to a loss in the company rather than increasing profit, which showed how marketing could collapse regardless of injecting investments into the specific project. Why might the refutation using data be more convincing? Data is the most convincing technique when having a dispute on the manager’s claim. Since the information invalidates the manager’s claim with other assertions, it would be more compelling than a theoretical argument (Prince, 2023). After that, the findings would be verified using data. One would consider comparing the organization’s income before and after the airing of the advertisement.
3 Activity II For the production of weekly soda sales, four components must be considered. The factors impacting the sales include its price, product placement, and if the week has a holiday. When the price of soda is cheap and affordable, more customers can purchase them. Product placement will also impact the fact that when the sodas are placed on the counter, the customers will quickly identify and buy them frequently. Concerning the type of the week, holidays will attract more people; hence, there will be celebrations and more sales since there will be celebrations and events (Prince, 2023). Additionally, weather pattern impacts soda sales in that there would be more sales during the summer compared to winter, reducing its sales. With the determination of the sales pattern, data is essential in predicting weekly soda sales; hence, the data-generating process involves the following factors. Price Product placement Whether the week contains a holiday Weather patterns Activity III 1. Calculate these descriptive statistics. Mean of sales The Excel AVERAGE function is used in calculating the mean of sales, and the outcome from the function will be $ 1,483,403.68 The variance in materials costs The variance uses the VAR.S function’ hence, the variance of material costs is $ 11,498,301.44 Covariance of labor costs and materials costs

4 The covariance utilizes the COVARIANCE.S function, and we will obtain the covariance between labor costs and material costs will be $ 3,594,800.69 Mean of labor costs. Utilizing the AVERAGE function, we will populate the mean labor costs, which is $ 72,410.42 Total sales The SUM function will be used, and the result will be $ 357,500,286 Calculate at least two more descriptive statistics for this dataset. Through the AVERAGE function, we will determine the mean material cost, and we will obtain $ 23,682.16 We will use the SUM function to obtain total labor costs, which will add to $ 17,450,911
