I couldn't agree with Manning (2016) more when he predicted in the video that "the internet phase," or distance learning, would soon rule the world of higher education. I also agree with Manning that mobile phone use is the only thing that can change the structure of higher education for the better in the next quarter of a century (Manning, 2016). Distance learning is just as successful as regular classroom settings when it comes to delivering the necessary content and knowledge for graduation. via the use of Canvas and Outlook, the college is able to communicate with students on all notifications, announcements, grades, email, Teams, Zoom, and other course materials that can be accessed via mobile devices. Within the Results from a 2013 study of college professors on online education were made public by Higher
Ed. According to writer Steve Kolowich, who reviewed the poll findings, "The development of online education excites them more than frightens them." This demonstrates that teachers have a positive outlook on online learning (Thelin, 2017, p. 50). The convenience of online learning makes it possible for students to reach out to their teachers at any time by email or phone (Western Governors University, 2022). I have been able to balance my studies with my full-time job, church duties, and caring for my two children thanks to the convenience of online classes. "Teaching, for example, brings to mind instructing for programs along with traditional classroom
instruction and/or online or hybrid courses, and supporting independent research, internships, and student research projects" (Thelin, 2017, p. 97), illustrating the similarities between online, face-to-face, and hybrid teaching. According to what I've read in this week's module, even if most of a college's curriculum is delivered online, the author argues that a physical location is still necessary for the creation and distribution of online programs (Thelin, 2017, p. 20). Two of my favorite aspects of online courses are how flexible they are and how they are not time-sensitive. It provides a clear breakdown of each lesson and arranges them in an understandable format. LearnUSI (2014) also has an easy-to-understand video titled "7 Common Misconceptions About Distance Learning" that compares and contrasts online and conventional classroom instruction to dispel common myths. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K_JoBkxVI0&list=RDLV3K_JoBkxVI0&index=1. While learning online, it is crucial to manage your time effectively. Proper etiquette is of the utmost importance, as we learn from the Bible. If you want to give anything the attention it needs, you need to find a way to balance your job and personal lives. So it is written in the Bible:
"Let all things be done decently and in order." Scripture referenced: 1 Corinthians 14:40 (New King James Version Bible, 1982). "Balancing Life Demands and Time Management from a Biblical Perspective," a video by Dr. Lissette Hernandez (2010), is a great tool for learning how to prioritize tasks.
