Anatomy and physiology will not only assist me in achieving my short-term work goals but will also assist me in achieving my long-term career goals. At order to work in a doctor's office or a hospital, I need a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology in my immediate future employment as a medical office assistant. Understanding body parts and how they work together makes it easier to understand patients' problems and to communicate messages to doctors. A medical office assistant’s responsibility also includes medical transcribing. Doctors utilize a lot of medical jargon in their handwritten or verbal notes, thus having a strong understanding of human anatomy and how systems interact is essential when transcribing these notes. Anatomy and physiology can also help you learn medical vocabulary, which is necessary for doing medical office responsibilities. Coding doctors' appointments for insurance claims is one component of medical office assistance; without knowledge of medical language, this activity would be nearly difficult. “Medical Terminology is the Anatomy and Physiology language. This global language is described using Greek and Latin terminology.
Anatomy is the study of the structure of the body and the physical relationships between its constituent parts. Physiology is the study of how the body systems work, and the ways in which their integrated activities maintain life and health of the individual. Pathology is the study of abnormalities and pathophysiology considers how they affect body functions, often causing illness (Waugh, Grant, 2014). When I return to the United States, I intend to return to school to
pursue a career as a radiographer. Understanding anatomy and physiology is significantly more important in this field. One of the responsibilities a radiographer must undertake, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, is to "precisely follow directives from physicians on what regions of the body to photograph. Imaging the correct location would be impossible without understanding where body parts are placed. Understanding anatomy and physiology will also
assist me in explaining to the patient why and how I require them to lie in a specific posture to obtain the greatest image. This course will be extremely beneficial to me in my future employment, and I am excited to learn more.
