The skull is an axial skeleton that forms the head. A skull is composed of two types of bones; facial and the cranial bones (cranium). The cranium is consists of a paired parietal and temporal bones and one each unpaired occipital, frontal, sphenoid and ethmoid bones. In children below the age of one year the cranial bones are not fused yet.
