Chapter 4.4, Problem 7E
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: Role of stirbar that is normally added to liquid to be boiled should be determined.

Concept introduction: Conversion of substance from its liquid to vapor state is called boiling. Boiling point is defined as temperature that has vapor pressure of liquid equal to pressure that is present around liquid. At this temperature, substance gets converted from liquid state to vapor or gaseous phase. It depends on strength of intermolecular forces. Stronger the intermolecular forces, higher will be boiling point and vice-versa.

(a)The pure liquid with the lowervapor pressure at room temperature has the ______ boiling point.
Boiling point is a temperature where the liquid just changes to vapour state. Select one: O True O False
Step 1. A phase diagram has three areas marked solid, liquid and vapour. A substance would be a solid if it falls into the area of the solid in the phase diagram. To make this point even clearer, color the three areas with three different-colored crayons. anssad Make sure to make each area as distinct as possible to the other areas. sold iquid vapour temperatre
