Even though the angiosperms are evolved from the extant gymnosperm, they did not arose at the same time because the ancient fossils of extant gymnosperms were about 305 million years old (Jurassicperiod) and angiosperms were originated about 140 million years ago (early Cretaceous period)in Mesozoic Era.
