Expert Solution & Answer
Program Description Answer
The software layer that emulates the necessary hardware on which the OS runs on an virtual machine is called as “Hypervisor”.
Explanation of Solution
Hypervisor:
The software that helps several operating systems to run on a particular computer can be termed as a hypervisor.
- Hypervisor is also called as “Virtual machine manager”.
- The function of the hypervisor is to create and manage the virtual machine and it controls the interaction established between virtual and physical machine.
- These hypervisor is divided in to two types, one is the Type I hypervisor or Bare metal hypervisor and other is Type II hypervisor.
