Chapter 25, Problem 21CP
Summary Introduction
To determine:
Reason of infants having grater thermoregulation problems than adults.
Introduction:
Thermoregulation is the mechanism of regulation of heat. It is controlled by the hypothalamus section of the brain and this why it is called the thermoregulatory centre of the body. It is used to maintain homeostasis which is the state of complete chemical, hormonal, mechanical, mental and thermal stability. This mechanism is underdeveloped in infants and fully developed in adults.
