Introduction:

Protein catabolism is majorly stimulated by the hormone named as cortisol in the body. Proteins are converted or broken down into their monomeric units of amino acids. A few of the amino acids are converted to other amino acids for protein synthesis. On the other hand, some amino acids undergo degradation and enter into the energy producing pathways.
