"Management positions in health care" Explain the differences between management and leadership. Discuss the traits of an effective leader. Include an example of these traits being used.  Using the job description from your search online, state at least two requirements listed in the job posting that represent leadership skills or characteristics.  Then, explain how these skills or characteristics identified would be used in a healthcare setting. Include how the leader’s ability to demonstrate these skills would help build a positive organizational culture where staff feel engaged and can participate in decision-making. Include examples that would show how they are used in healthcare.  Discuss how these traits support you in becoming an effective leader in a management position.

Discuss why you think it is important for health care professionals to have a strong and positive mentor. Provide specific examples. Discuss whether you have or have had a mentor? If so, share your experience and how it helped you become an effective leader and decision-maker. If you haven’t had a mentor, explain how you might find one and state one a goal you would set with your mentor to help you become an effective leader and decision-maker.

Discuss the role of a leader in a health care organization. In addition, include how the leader improves morale.  Discuss at least 2 actions a leader can take to maintain a positive work culture. Include how they can avoid a culture of blame. (Consider the use of checks and balances.) Use at least 1 example to convey meaning.  Explain why accountability is important and how it is measured in the healthcare industry. Include information on the checks and balance process providing one example of its use in healthcare.  Explain how accountability applies to ethical considerations in leadership and management. Be specific and utilize examples to convey meaning.
