Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The heart consists of four chambers namely, right atrium, left atrium, left ventricle and right ventricle. Right atrium obtains the deoxygenated blood through superior and inferior venae cavae and it pumps down to right ventricle. Left atrium obtains the oxygenated blood from the lungs and pumps it down to the left ventricle, thereby it discharges the blood to all organ systems. Atrium passage to the ventricle is guarded by the atrioventricular valves termed as bicuspid and tricuspid valves.
