Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The advantages of producing pepsinogens, trypsinogen, and chymotrypsinogen proenzymes as inactive peptides have to be determined.

Concept Introduction:

The inactive form of an enzyme is referred to as the proenzyme or zymogen. This proenzyme must be activated by cleavage of either a peptide or domains that are responsible for its inactivation. Once the inactive part is cleaved off the enzyme becomes active.
