Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The ependymal cells in the nervous system secrete the cerebrospinal fluid. It flows into the ventricles of the brain. There are three foramina in the brain through which there is a flow of the cerebrospinal fluid. Choroid plexus is present in the ependymal cells which secretes this fluid. It takes place in the thalamus region of the brain. The exchange of the gases takes place between the interstitial fluid and the cerebrospinal fluid before circulating into the spinal cord.

Students have asked these similar questions
Which part of the spinal cord contains somas of somatic motor neurons?   Multiple Choice a) The anterior horns b) The posterior horns c) The spinothalamic tract d) The arachnoid e)The lateral horns
What does the lateral horn of the spinal cord contain? Multiple Choice a) Sensory (afferent) neuron somas b) Interneurons c) Spinothalamic tracts d) Somas of somatic motor neurons e) Neurons of the sympathetic nervous system
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is made by groups of ciliated glial cells called [ Select ] in clumps called (A) [ Select ] which are mostly located in cavities within the brain called (B) ventricles . CSF flows out of those cavities into the (C) ventricular space, which sits deep to the dura mater and is held open by strands of tissue called arachnoid (D) villi . This space surrounds the brain and the spinal cord and carries waste from the CNS to the circulatory system. After circulating around the brain and spinal cord, CSF drains back into the circulatory system in spaces called (E) subarachnoid space .
