EXPLANATION

Educational institutions are the ones that are responsible for the formal socialization of individuals. They take the responsibility of implanting the norms and values that are prevailing in the larger society. The school will have a dominant position because of its position next to the family in the individual development process. some of the key school factors that affect educational achievement are

  1. teacher-pupil relationship: the impact of the teacher's behavior will have a major impact. The children in the schools are into the imitation stage where they learn the skills from the teachers through imitation. The stereotypes that existing in the teacher's behavior will make the student learn those stereotypes. For example, gender stereotypes.
  2. pro-school and anti-school subcultures: these are the external factors that will have an impact on the children. The children with pro-school behavior will tend to get into higher educations, whereas the students who developed with the ideas of anti-school will end up in deviant behavior.
  3. setting: the students placed in the higher sections in the school setting will develop more interest in learning academic knowledge, whereas the students placed in the lower sections will deviate their interest from learning academic knowledge.
  4. curriculum content: the curriculum of the school will also constitute a major factor. The curriculum that promotes the interest in the children to learn will lead to higher educational achievement. The practical-oriented curriculum is more interesting by the children in several research pieces whereas the more theoretical one.
  5. teaching and learning organization and assessment: the teaching practice that is used in the schools, like the old pattern of verbal teaching, is less interested in the students, whereas the new pattern of digitalized teaching, which promotes the interest in the children, will lead to higher educational achievement.
