Expert Solution
Step 1

One important asset that will increase personal choices in life would be willpower. Although it is not accurate to narrow down the option to one, it is very important as we can not determine that a seemingly right decision is going to have a safe outcome always that guarantees happiness. The best way to deal with any situation that comes your way is to inculcate willpower which will give you the power to push through even though you do not have much to keep going.

Reasons for lack of motivation:

  • Fear of failure

When a person fears failure right from the first step, they are prone to feel unmotivated and remain in a state of immobility growth-wise. Ex: a student who fears getting low marks in maths is prone to skip the exam altogether in hopes of not being in the competition.

  • Unaware of your needs

When you are not aware of your aspirations, you become confused and tend to not follow what you want. Ex: when a guy does not know the kind of life he wants, he is most likely to go along with life unmotivated and he will not want to do anything.

  • Procrastination

Postponing activities make us not achieve our goals which in turn makes us feel bad. Ex: a lady wants to become a politician and she postpones enrolling in a political party, she is most likely to become unmotivated and loses interest as a result.

  • Overwhelming situation

When the situation seems tough, and a person backs off they would feel unmotivated. Ex: not participating in a drawing competition due to the cost of the registration fees.

  • Lack of self-confidence

When a person feels they are not up to the task due to a self-analysis which tells them they are not enough, they are prone to feeling unmotivated. Ex: when a person does not become an actress due to her low self-confidence about her image.
