How was the assassin of archduke Franz Ferdinand
Expert Solution
Introduction

Franz Ferdinand was the nephew of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary. Franz Ferdinand was the heir apparent to the throne as Emperor Franz Joseph's son had committed suicide and Ferdinand's father Karl Ludwig, the next in line to the throne had died in 1898. His relationship with Countess Sophie Maria Josephine was not liked by the royal family as she was not a member of the House of Habsburgs and their marriage in 1900 was accepted only on the condition that Sophie could not use the royal title or privileges and their descendants could not claim the royal throne or any of their property. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was being trained for the role of emperor and was appointed the inspector-general of the armed forces of Austria-Hungary in 1913.
