Women are always discriminated against because of their sex. This gender discrimination exists in most societies and has attracted global attention. Women are regarded as the second sex and the weaker sex. They are regarded as weaker compared to men in all spheres of human society. Universally in the past four decades, there is increasing evidence of gender-based and gender-related social discrimination that has resulted in some of the most violent acts and crimes against women. Such gender bias in societies all over the world is a reflection of the ideology of patriarchy according to which most societies function.
