FREQUENCY STATISTICS 1 Dear Ray Foundation, Below, I have attached a histogram showing the differences in the age ranges within your agency. I see an increase in children between six and twelve years old compared to the other age groups. This may be due to an increase in after-school activities leading to reduced interest from high schoolers, or a lack of awareness among parents regarding the symptoms of mental illness in preschoolers. High schoolers may be spending time with friends after school, and parents may not be aware of how their children are presenting due to less time at home. These trends would lead me to increase the amount of support for children between the ages of six and twelve. This may look like multiple groups, so they aren’t too large; more therapists specializing in this area of development and an increase of age-specific toys if play therapy is included in the program. If I wanted to see a representation of all age groups in the agency, I would provide more pamphlets and outreach to high schools and preschools, as these age groups have less attendance. I would develop training for teachers that includes discussion of differences of symptoms between certain age groups and how to explain this to parents. I would also create specialized programs for specific age groups, such as an adolescent program with groups that specialize in that age range or a play therapy-focused preschool program.
