2020 Midterm Exam for HAP 360 Please use this document to provide your answers to the questions. Copy and paste any graphs or results into this document and upload this document. Format your responses to look good (to the extent possible same font size and type, no colors unless needed to make a point, etc.). We grade both the accuracy of response and the clarity of the presentation. This exam is 2 hours and 10 minutes long (to answer the questions and upload your answers) unless you have permission for extended time because of disabilities. This is an open book exam, open Internet. You can use any software on your computer. You are not allowed to work with other students or experts in the field. You are not allowed to ask for the advice of your family members, friends or partners. By submitting this work, you are stating that this is your work and you had no other help from anyone else. Please read the entire exam and ask any clarifying question at start of the exam. If something is not clear email the instructor. Answers to your questions will be emailed to all students and not just to you. If you submit the exam more than 5 minute after the deadline, you would lose 20% of the grade. 1. What is your first name, last name, and email of your advisor (10 Points)? Daniel Burke, jshiver@gmu.edu 2. Today, what percent of acute care hospitals in United States have an Electronic Health Record? Use search engine and/or PubMed to find the answer. Provide the site of the information and show that the date when the assessment was made (10 points)? 96 per cent of all non-federal acute care hospitals possessed certified health IT. The data is sourced from healthit.gov on 10th March 2019. https://dashboard.healthit.gov/quickstats/pages/certified-electronic-health-record- technology-in-hospitals.php 3. Define the following abbreviations: EMR, EHR, RHIO, and CPOE. (10 points) EMR – Electronic Medical Record EHR – Electronic Health Record RHIO – Regional Health Information Organization CPOE - Computerized physician order entry This study source was downloaded by 100000809230712 from CourseHero.com on 02-28-2024 09:36:29 GMT -06:00 https://www.coursehero.com/file/70203906/HAP-360-Midterm-2020doc/
4. Provide scatter diagram showing the relationship between IT Budget and Organization’s Revenue . Create a trend line. Provide labels for X and Y axis. Title the chart. Display revenues in millions. Display IT budget in thousands. (10 points). Use the following data: Fiscal Year IT Budget (in $) Use of EHR Organization’s Revenue (in $) 2009 200,000 20,000 130,000,000 2010 230,000 22,000 133,000,000 2011 275,000 23,000 137,000,000 2012 300,000 27,000 139,000,000 2013 320,000 30,000 140,000,000 5. Using the data from the previous question, calculate correlation between Organization’s Revenue, Use of EHR and IT Budget? Calculate partial correlation and answer the question: Is it reasonable to assume that IT is adding to the revenues generated by the organization or vice versa, that increased revenue is fueling increased expenditures on IT (what comes first budget or revenue)? Calculate rate of return (IRR) for a $175,000 investment in an EHR and $15,000 yearly maintenance cost, that leads to the following level 1 benefits. Consider the following ratings for the need for information and indicate which piece of information should be collected regularly and made available through the computer to decision makers, which other pieces of information should be planned for and finally which pieces of information does not require data collection. Show how your conclusions are derived from ranges and averages in the data, using the median to separate high and low values. Impact of quality should be collected. Impact of cost doesn’t need data. 8. Assume that cost is 2 times more important than reputation and reputation is 3 times more important than compatibility with existing systems, and compatibility is 5 times more than ease of use , what is the relative importance of all 4 attributes. Answer the question calculating weights. (10 points) Ease of use=x compatibility=5x reputation=15x cost=30x Total=x+5x+15x+30x=51x weights will be 1/51,5/51,15/51, 30/51 respectively. weight for ease of use=1/51=0.02 weight for compatiability=5/51=0.1 weight for reputation=15/51=0.3 weight for cost=30/51=0.6 9.
