2 Abstract The following literature will explore the transformative impact of Skill Lab's experience on the writer's subjective and professional development, specifically in field education preparation. The examination focuses on responding to an elaborate scenario in Day 3 Session 3, highlighting considerations completed and their implications for field readiness. This exemplifies adeptness in handling multifaceted circumstances; this experience signifies preparedness to guide real- world challenges. The report emphasizes the pivotal role of these skills in the field, outlining strategies to integrate and apply these lessons in practical field education. Overall, the paper underscores the prominence of these developed aptitudes and their seamless transferability into proficient practice for holistic development.
3 Subjective Review The Skills Lab Immersive was in a virtual setting, which allowed me, as a student, to question the validity of the impact of the course due to the nature of the course presentation, even if it was a face-to-face concept. Nonetheless, the class was a breath of fresh air in the amount of detail in the instructors, presentations, exercises [individual and group], and, specifically, the breakout rooms. The immersive benefited my professional development, and the presentations and the exercise provided insight for self-growth and tools for real-life applicability.   During the Skills Lab, many learning skills, such as reflective and active listening skills, were refreshed and learned. Operational (active) and contemplative (reflective) listening are instrumental in effectively conversing with peers or individuals. When building a relationship with a client, active and reflective listening can assist in creating a transparent and trusting relationship with the client. In practice, active listening means listening and responding effectively to the client's thoughts and statements. The role-play situations were a principal time to practice active listening during the Skills Labs. In the role-plays, a short narration was given to a fictional character to add to the reality of the practice. In active learning, the "social worker" played by the student could add additional resources and information to assist their "fictional" client. Contrariwise, the reflective listing is the client's thoughts and feelings being "reflected" back to them and does utilize engagement and the thoughts being acknowledged by the client. Like active listening, reflection has many beneficial components when talking to clients. The social worker in the role-plays utilized this when engaging with the client [fictional] and validated the emotions and feelings of the clients. The two listening skills—active and reflective —are essential to having more empathetic, transparent, and effective communication within individual and group communication.   The three-day Skill Lab immersive employed collaboration, interpersonal, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills as other notable skills. Collaboration is an essential skill to practice. During breakout sessions, we often engaged with other peers, and during these times, being motivated and often energetic with team members and utilizing positive feedback

4 while contributing relevant information was necessary. Another area where we could improve our problem-solving skills. There are multiple examples in which this is incorporated during the immersive; some of the situations were assisting tears in completing the various assignments or tasks in the breakout rooms, for example, or illustrating searching for resources for the family and the mobile crisis center. In turn, they often utilize critical thinking skills in objectively evaluating, estimating, and investigating the client [fictional], permitting an unprejudiced and impartial judgment to be developed in correlation with solutions for the client [fictional]. Lastly, during the skill lab immersive, there were multiple times in which solving challenging situations and scenarios and utilizing interpersonal skills that helped with communicating with our peers were needed. During the third day of the skill lab, we utilized the most critical thinking skills and active and reflective listening while utilizing interpersonal skills. Furthermore, these role-plays demonstrated a high level of consideration that must be addressed adequately to the client's [fictional] needs while engaging appropriately and respectfully. In conclusion, today, day three scenarios provided pivotal insight into the real-life applicability of what social workers have to deal with in their day-to-day lives but were also informative in the totality of the learning.   Considering my future aspirations, the skill lab immersive will provide a measurable, helpful, and influential aspect of moving forward with the field experience. Not only that, but it will also help me interpersonally in social work. The role-plays were highly insightful, and gaining first-hand knowledge and applicability of the field placement made me feel less anxious and more prepared for such an endeavor. Thus, while taking part in the Skill Labs, there is a high precedent for the real-life applicability of our daily narrations. Lastly, the skill labs allowed me not only to introspect about where I can improve my interpersonal skills and social work applicability but also helped me understand that knowledge is never fully comprehended; it's constantly expanding.
