Biblical Worldview Essay
Having a precise, functioning Biblical Worldview is crucial to us as Christians. We need to be able to view everyday life through a scriptural lens and discern between what honors God and what goes against God. In this essay we will go over what a biblical worldview is and why it
is important to us. A Biblical Worldview is a way of viewing the world through a lens of scripture. In all that we do, say, see, and experience, we do so with God’s word and truth in our minds. A biblical
worldview is one that encapsulates the modern world, while holding fast to the core gospel truths
in our hearts. The authority of this worldview should take first priority over what we say and do, and should be the most important thing in making decisions. At LU, students can intentionally focus their learning from a Biblical standpoint. A student here at Liberty can build and maintain a strong worldview outside of class by regularly reading the Bible, spending time with the Lord in prayer, convocation, and attending worship nights and Bible Studies. Our purpose as believers in Christ is to advance the Lord’s Kingdom on Earth. We are called to be light to those who do not know Christ, and to act Godly in all that we do. Some of my goals at Liberty are to be trained as a Champion for Christ, to be built up as a pillar of light in
Christ, as well as be able to influence those around me. My main goal in life is to be a loving Christian, friend, husband, and father, being able to provide for my family and friends while
constantly being with God and honoring him in all that I do. A Biblical Worldview helps me to maintain a relationship with God and lets me build up my life upon his word. My worldview helps me with my education because it allows me to esteem a career in order to provide for my family and friends. Diversity (as described in the video “Diversity at Liberty University”) is the variety of differences we have as people groups, while maintaining the common ground of being made in God’s image. Cultures flourish when working together, because each culture has specific strengths and ideas to benefit us all as Christians. Again, a Biblical Worldview is important, especially for following the great commission, because it teaches us the importance of making disciples and setting an example for those who are around us. We can effectively engage others by sharing fellowship with one another and spending time together with our friends and family. In conclusion, a Biblical worldview is crucial to us as Christians and for fulfilling God’s purpose. We are called to be like salt and light to those who do not know Christ, and be a blessing to build up those who are in Christ. A proper Biblical Worldview ensures that.
