2 Christian & Biblical Worldview From God's perspective, our purpose in the world is to love God and then show the same love he offers us to others so they can come to know him. God wants us to lead others to him through our love for them! Jesus explains our purpose simply in Matthew 22: 36-40 when he says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself” ( Holy Bible, New International Version, 1973/2011). Importantly, our purpose is to have a restored relationship with God, and then we can love others the same way God loves them so they, too, can have a restored relationship with him. There is a process that each person must go through. Let’s begin by reminding ourselves that the God of the Bible is a God of purpose, not just general purpose but specific ones. We must intentionally focus on fulfilling God’s will in the different areas of our daily lives. This is the general purpose for all of us, but the path we take to reach it will be specific to us, our family, and our life situation. But the transformation process shapes and prepares us for the world to come and takes place daily. It is multifaced and involves every area of our personal and moral life. Yes, it includes family, work, and our ministry. God has a place of service in His Kingdom for each of His children, whether we are at the top of society or the bottom or somewhere in between, whether educated or illiterate. Gordon Smith said we should “Know yourself.” (Smith, G. T. (2011) pg.53). In scripture, Romans 12:3 says, “By the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, but to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned” ( Holy Bible, New International Version, 1973/2011). We must be humble and willing to allow God to move in our life. Everyone’s life is a plan of God. The Bible shows us, for example, consider God’s purpose for the prophet Jeremiah; Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” ( Holy Bible, New International Version, 1973/2011). or His plan for Apostle Paul; Galatians 1:15- 16 says, “when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles” ( Holy
3 Bible, New International Version, 1973/2011). So, God has plans for notable figures like these and each of us in our own generation. Ephesians 2:10 says plans which He has “prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” ( Holy Bible, New International Version, 1973/2011). Therefore, our greatest concern and frequent prayer should be for God to fulfill his plans for our lives. In conclusion, I know that by embracing God’s purpose and plan, I am in a position for God to lead me into how He wants to work in my daily life. I know that God can lead me in any way He wishes. By a direct word, as with Jeremiah, or in rare cases, word through others, as with Paul, or through unusual circumstances, but normally, His work through a process using His written word. God has unfolded his plans in the ordinary affairs of my daily life. He is guiding me, especially in important issues, such as which church to join, in what ways I should serve Him, where I should attend school “Colorado Christian University,” what career I should pursue “Counseling,” where I should work “Elementary School” where I should live “United States,” who my closes friends should be, who I will marry. If I hold on to the biblical worldviews, I will be able to fact-check myself with the Bible to keep me on track, and I will be able to tell if what I am doing is in line with the biblical worldviews and, therefore, God’s design.
