Introduction:
My last witness encounter occurred while I was at dinner. My encounter occurred was with my oldest son, who is a Black Hebrew. He has is a 26-year-old black male, who grew up in a semi-
strict Christian home for ten years then became a son of preacher. My son, although I don’t use this term, is my stepson. He converted to being a Black Hebrew when he turned 22 or 23 after my brother-in-law converted. Moreover, my son’s biological father is a Jehovah Witness, who also has had several changes in religious beliefs, thus causing my son to have some doubts in faith.
Conversation:
As I stated, we were at dinner, and I had just completed praying over our dinner. It was at that point my wife noticed my son doing a prayer after we had completed. Once he completed his prayer, she asked him “what our grace wasn’t good enough for you?” At which point he declared he was just doing what he thought he needed to do. He then looked at me and asked, “Wil don’t you pray after other people pray?” My answer was yes only if they don’t believe in Jesus. That answer threw him off because he knew that I had hit him in his belief in Christ Jesus.
He continued to try to explain that he believes in the Most High and how we believe in the same God because we are the original Jews. I then asked him did he believe in Jesus? true Most High is that He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us. I also explained to him that God, not only sent Jesus to restore us to Him. He also sent the Holy Spirit to fill us and guide us. Conclusion:
Proverbs 22: 6 states: “Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

I believe that God is working on my son, and I have been praying that he returns
to what he was taught growing up. I will admit that this encounter was the most difficult encounter for me, because it was my son. My love for him is deeper than anything and I pray daily that he finds his way to Jesus. I understand that he is hurting and that when I say something he feels that I am trying to be bossy. Our relationship is a father and son; however, he also thinks that we are equals because he is an adult. Moreover, the fact that I am his stepfather I am sure there is a part of anger because my wife and his father did not stay together. However, I know he knows that I love him, and I want the best for him. That’s why I know that he will come home.
