Over the years, I have read the bible fluently, to not knowing where my bible was located. I can look back and remember when I was reading my bible on a regular basis, I was different, life was different. I lived with internal hope and peace, daily. When starting to read the scriptures for this assignment the first, Psalm 18:30 says “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him” ( Holy Bible, New International Version , 1973/2011), pierced me and I could almost physically feel His presence as I was turning to the page. I recognized my God/Jesus. I immediately knew He was about to reveal something vital, shifting my belief. I have struggled to agree with the importance of ‘studying’ the bible when it is presented in a religious way. I do believe it has power. I do believe God can and has preserve His word through it. Why has there been a doubt or confusion about it? I believe inquiring of God and allowing Him to guide you and reveal His word through the scriptures, confirming what He is saying. I am not sure where and why this lie about reading the bible got twisted in me. Since I began this class there has been a huge tug for a change inside. It has also been an almost debilitating struggle. ‘Self’ is not happy with this discovery; but the truth has been revealed. He has made the change. I have seen visions of doors opening and ascension and every time I have opened my bible since I returned to school there has been this lift and feeling of power, a gentle force of restoration. Now I can’t even make sense of any unbelief in the importance of studying the bible. Studying the Bible is essential because it has the power to completely transform a person's life, offering invaluable wisdom, that stimulates a deeper relationship with God. The Bible's transformative power is evident in various aspects of life, including personal growth, restoration, and conversion to believing. Studying the Bible is crucial as it offers wisdom
and guidance in various aspects of life. It has changed the lives of countless people, such as Nabeel Qureshi, an individual who advocated for and preserved the ideals of evangelical Christianity. Converted from Ahmadiyya Islam. Qureshi converted from Ahmadiyya Islam to Christianity while he was a college student. He was born into an Ahmadi family. His life was transformed by God as he studied the Bible and had a friend who questioned his ideas. He tells his story on through this video "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus" (CrossPoint Church, 2019). The Bible serves as a source of hope, encouragement, and comfort in difficult times. Its abundant teachings and beliefs make it a valuable resource for navigating life's challenges, including ethical issues, relationships, and financial responsibility. Readings from the Bible provide wisdom to deal with the challenges of today's world in a way consistent with one's beliefs. Studying the Bible allows individuals to live lives full of purpose, meaning, righteousness, and uprightness. As the song, Look Around by Housefires says, "Look around from where you've come from, look around at where you are, now look around and lift your head up. Anything is possible." (TRIBL, 2023) The transformational impact of the Bible can be seen in many facets of life, including personal growth, restoration, and conversion to believing. It is critical to study the Bible because it provides knowledge and guidance in many areas of life. Books from the Bible provide guidance for dealing with today's issues in a way that is compatible with one's core beliefs. Individuals who study the Bible are able to live lives that are full of purpose, meaning, righteousness, and uprightness.
