Session 3 Questions
1.
According to Bickel and Jantz (2003), what is the main theme of the
Bible? (Provide cited support from your text for this theme.)
Bickel and Jantz write that God is the author. We are the character, and Jesus is the
theme. Bickel and Jantz break the Bible down into 4 parts: Part 1, God's message for you; Part 2,
the Old Testament; Part 3, the New Testament; and the 4th part, Taking God at his word. Bickel
and Jantz feel that this allows people to understand the Bible and the different story being told.
However, in chapter 3, They give us a rich realization of the Facets of God. (Bickel & Jantz,
2003).
2.
How does this theme compare to your current view or understanding of
the Bible?
In the great drama of human history, God has written himself into the plot (Bickel & Jantz,
2003, p. 61). This theme helps us to comprehend the Bible even more. Furthermore, when we say
learn the Bible, we discuss understanding what we read. Some of us know that just like the
ancient Israelites, we were born a sinner and in need of a Savior—someone to help us fight
against all evil that was coming for us. We should be so incredibly grateful that God loves us
enough to save us, redeem us from all our mistakes and sins, and save us from freefall into death
and destruction. We know we have all made some decisions that our father would not be happy
with. But if we get up from that and learn from our mistakes and try to make things right, our
father is happy. Furthermore, do better and walk on the path we know he has put us on this earth
to do. To help the people he has put us on this earth to help. We will always be good in our
father's eyes.

How can understanding the big picture of the Bible help you as you seek
to apply Scripture to course content? (Provide specific examples to
support your response, making sure to also incorporate this week’s
Biblical Perspective reading.)
John 3:16-18 says. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have Eternal life. For God did not send his Son into
the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is
not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not
believed in the name of God's One and Only Son. (
Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011
,
John 3:16-18)
The big picture is that we require a Savior. We need our Father to save us from Utter
Damnation. So, God gave us his Son, Jesus. Furthermore, Jesus came to grant us deliverance,
salvation, redemption, and inheritance of the Kingdom of God. Moreover, the way he could
complete that was through his death at Calvary. The cross is essential to all evangelicals, and it is
the climax of the Christian story. (Session 3 Biblical Perspectives,2023). God is sacrificing his
Son for our sins was all a part of his big plans to save the lost souls.
Furthermore, to allow Jews and Gentiles to inherit his kingdom and to worship him in
spirit and truth together as one as his children. Moreover, with understanding the bigger picture. I
can apply scripture to course content because I have a more profound revelation of who God is.
Why He descended and ascended again. Who I am? Furthermore, he used this class to help me
thrive in college and wisdom to use what I have learned outside of college.
