Will you stand Forever? The author talks about the reason why it can be very hard to stand forever like the restored church of Jesus Christ which would be standing until the second coming of Jesus Christ, he also gave a clue on what cannot make us stand forever at all and he also talked of what we can do in order to stand forever in the world full of deception. The whole article talks more about deception, it says deception is the sign of our time in otherwards signs of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Deception has got many spectrums which in a lay man term would be that there are many kinds of lies that is very hard to escape from them if we are not serious about important thing in life though the one thing that can help us against deception is knowledge. Knowledge is crucial to avoid deception, to discern between truth and error, and to see clearly and chart a course through the hazards of our day. How to avoid Deception ? The author says that in order to avoid deception, we need to formulate two types of questions that is to say the primary question and secondary question. Primary questions are the most important ones that the rest of other questions or everything else is the subordinate. For instance, in a restored gospel context, primary questions are; Is there a God who is our Father? Is Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Savior of the world? Was Joseph Smith a prophet? Is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the kingdom of God on the earth? The primary questions are things that are core of our faith therefore answering them would mean that we can answer also the secondary questions which are basically subordinates of the primary questions for instance, questions about Church history, polygamy, people of African descent and the priesthood, women and the priesthood, how the Book of Mormon was translated, the Pearl of Great Price, DNA and the Book of Mormon, gay marriage, the different accounts of the First Vision, and on and on. Ways of learning . As Truth enables us to see clearly because it is the “knowledge of things as they [really] are, and as they were, and as they are to come. We use different ways to learn or acquire knowledge we need to protect ourselves from deception or many lies that is in this mortal life which is being disseminated instantaneously throughout the world by electronic media. The different ways of learning are scientific, analytic, academic and divine methods of learning. The unique thing about all these methods is that they all begins with question or asking good question that would trigger the learning. 1. Scientific method. With the scientific method, a hypothesis is framed in response to a question. Experimentation is then conducted to test the hypothesis. The results are then analyzed, and conclusions are drawn that either confirm, disprove, or modify the hypothesis—in which event the process continues.
For example, in the book of Malachi in Bible, the Lord also said, “Prove me now herewith . . . if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. This is literally meaning that you have to do the experiment in order to learn this way, if you actually pay your tithing which doing the experiment then the Lord will do His part and you would learn this way that the promise is true. 2. The Analytical Method The analytical method is also important. It involves gathering, organizing, and weighing evidence relevant to a question. Based on the weight of the evidence, conclusions are drawn as to what the truth may be. A good example of this method is when you need to choose one university yet you have been admitted in two, so you would compare the two universities in many ways you can then select the one that seems to be having a better standard than the other or when you can make the decision after comparison, you can ask the Lord to help you. 3. The Academic Method The academic method involves, of course, study of the written word. This is an interesting method we always use to learn from the scriptures and other books, we can acquire great knowledge using this simple academic method. 4. The Divine Method The divine method of learning incorporates the elements of the other methodologies but ultimately trumps everything else by tapping into the powers of heaven. This perhaps the most important method of learning though an individual would need to believe and rely on a Heavenly being who is our Father. For instance, when I’m stuck in life and all things seems to be not moving well, I would pray to God who would then use His Spirit to give me answers and direction in life.
