The Theories on Lifespan Development Kimberly Perez Houston Christian University Psychology Major 4/5/2023
In order to prepare you for the major paper in which you develop your personal theory of human development, in Response Paper 2, you are to discuss your thoughts on the following questions: Describe how the cognitive perspective explains lifespan development, What aspects do you agree with, disagree with, question, etc.? Describe how the humanistic perspective explains lifespan development. What aspects do you agree with, disagree with, question, etc.? Do any of these clashes with your personal faith beliefs? if so, how can you resolve the apparent contradiction? Have you changed your thoughts on anything you wrote in Response paper 1? The cognitive perspective is only based on the function of the internal thoughts and feelings. I agree with the fact of influence playing a part in our development because memories are imprints for life. However, I do not agree in this theory being a reliable method due to the human brain naturally deteriorates with age. Attention span can either lesson or increase and these two factors play a significant balance in healthy human development. The humanistic perspective being based on individualism and uniqueness explains lifespan development in one of the naturalistic states of human development. I must agree with every aspect of this theory due to the fact of naturalistic development is without a doubt the most natural state of humanity in general.
Adaption is a trait that can be proven. Naturally we all adapt to our surroundings. impact on my personal faith because these methods are what our Lord intended for our personal developments as individuals.
