A Case Treatment Plan for a Client Vignette Students Name Institutional Affiliation Course Title Instructor’s Name Date of Submission
This essay aims to develop a treatment plan for a client vignette (Russell) diagnosed with stress related to large money handling, extra commitment to work, isolation, loneliness, and depression. The essay will also intertwine the Christian worldview perspectives with the treatment plan stance. DSM-5 Diagnosis and Cultural Impact: Russell's presentation suggests symptoms of stress, isolation, loneliness, and depression as he undergoes many worry and mood changes ( Lewis-Fernández & Kirmayer, 2019) . Additionally, Rusell's inability to express his emotions about relationships and the cultural stress of being an old African American can indicate cultural adjustment issues. Considering his cultural background's influences, it is important to understand how they preceded his symptoms occurrences and interpretation. Cultural influences like making money and professional accomplishments in African American society and the family history of being from a middle- class family with fewer resources may make Russell more anxious about other life aspects and accelerate his depressive symptoms ( Lewis-Fernández & Kirmayer, 2019) . How do the client's strengths, limitations, and other key factors inform the client's prognosis? Russell shows resilience by demonstrating his desire to get help, so he engages in 2 years of therapy sessions. His ability to understand that he has social problems in making relationships and commitments shows a degree of understanding and a determination to work on his social life ( Strengths-Based Intervention: Identify and Use Strengths with Your Clients to Improve Well- Being , 2020). However, Rusell could experience a limit to his therapy session after a restart due to his difficulties in emotional expressions and the cultural confirmation expectation pressures. Russell's prognosis could significantly be impacted by providing cultural psychoeducation on
adjustments, creating a very effective therapeutic relationship, and integrating culturally thoughtful interventions. The client's presented concerns Russell is majorly concerned about his increasing stress from making enormous money decisions, depressed feelings, isolation, and loneliness due to his lack of meaningful relationships and connections. Russell also struggles with identity ambiguity since he is a homosexual and also has a cultural disconnect as he is an African American ( Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2014) . The main contributors to these concerns are family dynamics, acculturation trauma, and cultural demands, leading to his emotional unsettlement. Areas of Transference Impacting Vignette's Cultural Intake During his cultural intake process, Russell may re-look at his poor experiences in making meaningful relationship connections or in his cultural context, and he may be overlooked, thus impacting his transference ( Gomperts, 2018) . During his therapy sessions, Russell could portray stress feelings and elevated expectations from the therapist. He thus may seek appreciation and corroboration, which could, to a large degree, affect the therapeutic relationship. Furthermore, his cultural background could make him more skeptical or unwilling to participate fully in the therapeutic process. Recommended treatment plan i. Russell will have to undergo Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which will be effective in tackling his stress, loneliness, isolation, and depressive problems, including his social life relationships (Services & H. (n.d.).

ii. Psychoeducation will help Russell become culturally aware, understand the consequences of cultural, social, and family history expectations on his social and emotional wellness, and increase cultural integration with the American community. iii. Russell needs to be taught to be mindful of his life. He should settle down, leave homosexuality, make meaningful relationships, and have a wife and children who can inherit his vast wealth later. iv. For Russell to improve his general communication with his family and engagement, he needs family therapy sessions. These will significantly help him lower his emotional stress and understand his cultural background. Why is your recommendation(s) the best course of action? CBT has proven to be effective in controlling and treating all anxiety, loneliness, isolation, and depression problems, most especially when dealing with negative thinking like suicidal thoughts and behavior of social functioning collapse (Services & H. (n.d.). Psychoeducation and mindfulness will help Russell understand his cultural identity as a man, not homosexual. Family therapy sessions will help reduce Rusell's emotions and offer a base for his expressions. Conclusion(S) and related logical outcome(S) to support the treatment plan. At the end of the treatment plan, it is perceived that Rusell’s stress and depression will reduce due to the applied coping mechanisms by therapists throughout the recommended treatment schedule. To facilitate an effective cultural and communication understanding, there is a need for the creation of emotional thoughtfulness, which will help improve Rusell's well-being. Additionally, Rusell can gain a higher learning and cultural integration ground through family support, facilitating the communication of his emotions.
Evaluation is informed with evidence(S) and cultural perspective(S). Evidence-based evaluations will be used to evaluate and inform Russell's progress, for example, family working interviews, up-to-date depression and anxiety scales, and measures for cultural identities. Sensitive evaluations will be conducted on Russell's concerns, family history, Psychiatric history, Trauma history, and Social functioning to ensure progress supports his expectations and values ( Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2014). Opposing treatment plan points To successfully suppress Russell's feelings of loneliness, isolation, stress, and depression, there must be a corroboration and verification of the treatment plan as well as the considerations of exploring Russell's family history, influences, and culture as related to his psychiatric therapy. Moreover, the provision of therapy that is indulging and incorporates others may help Russell share with others experiences and learn from them. How can your plan integrate Christian Worldview principles and perspectives? The Christian Worldview perspective can be integrated into the treatment plan by applying spiritual counseling, which could address the essence of faith and hope, thus reducing suicidal thoughts and other mixed feelings. Emphasizing the need for Russell to apply faith in his situations and take a stand on his life, whether to be a man or woman, is important to reduce his cultural identity crisis. Furthermore, Rusell is old, wealthy, and still not maritally settled; therefore, the inclusion of prayer and important bible teachings could help him find a sense and purpose in his gender, culture, and other personal issues like lacking time for meaningful relationship commitments, thus gaining meaning of spiritual contentment (eschneider2, 2017).
