The accelerated growth and popularization of online psychotherapy options may become the norm over the next five years or less. Due to the growing technology, legislation and ethical enforcement develop much slower than the technology itself. Solutions for ethical issues are highly important to ensure client's safety and well-being 3. what was the research question? What are the main ethical arguments supporting and opposing online psychotherapy a and how might they be addressed? 4. what was the method or approach used (for example, quantitative quasi- experimental, qualitative case study, et cetera)? The method of this narrative review was qualitative and meta-ethnographic. a) identify the participants and how they were selected. The participants were 24 different articles in favor of online psychotherapy and 32 articles against it. A search of three databases (PubMed. psychINFO, and Web of Science) using a specific search protocol, producing 249 publications. these were then narrowed down to 24 articles in support and 32 in opposition using specific qualifiers for the review.

With the growing demand for online psychotherapy, if trained professionals don’t choose to participate, the need will likely be filled with con artists and unqualified providers. It is important that psychotherapists from’ all backgrounds become properly educated in the risks/benefits if they want to be able to make well-informed decisions and act in the best interests of their patients.
