The first article result is not about both children and poverty; however, the second result article is about both children/adolescents and poverty. What could you have done differently to get results that were about children and poverty? One way that I would have gotten different results would be to add similar words or synonyms into the search bar. Or I could have added quotation marks around the phrases to make them exact. Another way would be to add an age group under age for the group you were looking for. PSYC3210 Read the information in the section Methodology. Describe the sample instructor and student population (who participated), number of courses, and the type of institution. Use the correct in-text citation. Wang and Rodgers (2006) participants in their study were students and instructors from a large Midwestern state university in 6 different service- learning courses. Seven instructors and 72 students from the courses participated in the study. From these 72 students in the study, 52 were women and 20 were men ranging from ages 18 to 33 years old. Of the students there were 9 first-year master students ,30 fourth-year undergraduates, 11 third-year undergraduates, 3 second-year undergraduates and 19 first-year undergraduates. What do we know about the generalizability of this study? In the language of researchers, can the results of this study be generalized? Wang and Rodgers (2006) study can not be generalized because the study was only done in one Midwestern university and you should not generalize for the whole population without further studies being done in other sections of the country and at different universities. Complete the next section: Find the following article in the library and then use it to answer the following questions. Hint, you can copy and paste the reference into Summon to find the article. Sutter, M., & Perrin, P. B. (2016). Discrimination, mental health, and suicidal ideation among LGBTQ people of color. Describe the sample population (who participated) in your own words. Use the correct intext citation . In Sutter and Perrin’s (2016) study, their participants were members of the LGBTQ community, mostly located in metropolitan area. Their participants had to be over the age of 18 and be a person with a ethic/racial minority background. Outside of the participants in this survey, who else might the results be true for? In the language of research, who can the results be generalized to? Outside of the participants in Sutter and Perrin’s (2016) study, the results might also be true for people of color that aren’t a member of the LGBTQ community or white members of the LGBTQ community.
