While observing M, I noticed that he avoids playing in the sensory bin and the dramatic area. M tends to be a lot quieter and limited speaking when communicating with peers and educators. Curriculum To encourage K’s social and cognitive development, it can be enhanced by encouraging him to seek other classmates to come play with him. Pretend play can also assists with their problem-solving and physical problem-solving. Encourage K to share his opinions in group discussions. Some children know what they want to say but they tend to have trouble saying. To help him, the educator can create scripted things to say when he needs to speak up. For example: “Can I drink water?” or “I need some extra time to finish my art”.
