1 2-2 Final Project Milestone Two: Draft of Research Materials (Surveys) Tyeshia Gantt Southern New Hampshire University
2 Introduction Hello everyone, my name is Tyeshia Gantt. I am a Forensic Psychology major currently enrolled in PSY 520 at SNHU. I’ve noticed as a graduate student it can be difficult to balance school and daily life. One main thing that I struggle with is sleeping. While trying to balance school, work, family, and other various things… lack of sleep is the price I pay. I know that I cannot be the only graduate student or college student in general that encounters this. “Sleep deprivation occurs when someone does not get the amount of sleep they need. It is estimated that sleep deprivation affects around one-third of Americans, with increased prevalence in recent years. Lack of sleep directly affects how we think and feel. Even after just one night without enough rest, we can feel drowsy during the day with slowed thinking, lack of energy, and an irritable mood. While the short-term impacts are more noticeable, chronic sleep deprivation can heighten the long-term risk of physical and mental health problems” (Suni & Dimitriu, 2022). Lack of sleep affects a lot especially when it comes to productivity and quality. Studies have proven that sleep deprivation can have a negative effect on productivity and quality. This survey will provide the link between lack of sleep, productivity, and quality. This survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. All participants will remain anonymous and all responses are confidential. The results from this survey will shed light on the importance of getting an adequate amount of sleep to be productive daily and create quality work. Instructions This survey has 17 multiple-choice questions. Answer options will be dependent on the question. Please answer truthfully and to the best of your ability. You will only need to select one
3 answer for each question. Majority of the survey will use a scaling technique. You can exit the survey at any time if you do not want to complete it.
