Response:
From my perspective, this week was really instructive. This was a week that I could take advantage of. This week, we focused on the priestly key and related authority. According to D&C 16-22, individuals who are undeserving will not be allowed priesthood power. It is advised that those who rebel against the righteous may not obtain the same rewards as the Lord's disciples. Without the priests' blessings,
life will be difficult. Understanding this is critical given the situation in the rest of the world, where problems are spreading and tensions are mounting.
Then, according to D&C 132:7-14, those who are unworthy to carry the priesthood will not have access to its authority. It is warned that those who oppose the righteous will not obtain the same blessings as those who obey the Lord. Life will be difficult without the priests' blessings. This is crucial to understand because of what we see
happening in the rest of the world, where issues are spreading and tensions are rising. D&C 22 also discusses this. Not to mention, this chapter discusses dead works and baptism. Ordinances and sacred
activities can only be performed by worthy individuals or, in the case of a worthy priesthood holder, by themselves. If not, the action has a different meaning and is ineffective.
Word Count: 215 4. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World
There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences
of living in a fallen world. The gospel truths taught in the Articles of Faith have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again.
Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem. If you have another issue that particularly interests you, then choose your own:
abortion
abuse/bullying
addiction
depression
divorce
domestic violence
energy/environmental issues
violence
gambling
genocide
homosexuality
international terrorism
materialism
natural disasters
pornography
unemployment
poverty
racial strife/hatred
religious intolerance/persecution
threats to religious liberty
same-sex marriage
suicide
Scenario: Imagine you are speaking to someone who has experienced or has concerns about
the issue you have chosen. What would you share from the doctrine and fundamental truths that you have studied this past week to help that person? Include why you think these truths and doctrine are helpful and what they have meant to you. Be encouraging with the truths you know.
Write a response in at least 300-450 words
and list your word count at the end of your response.
5.
The world problem/issue I chose this week is:
Divorce
Response:
The frequency of divorced marriages is rising in the modern day. It can be triggered by more serious difficulties such as violence, domestic abuse, and infidelity, or it can be the result of a couple's decreasing compatibility over time. Young people are increasingly choosing not to marry because they believe divorce is inevitable. Devotion and loyalty have dropped as a result of Satan's temptations and the new world's mentality, which holds that doing something wrong is beneficial at the time. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we Latter-day Saints understand that families are a commandment and a fundamental component of God's gospel.
As a result, the devil is in charge of destroying them, leading to frustration and anger among parents and children. I believe that the present divorce rate continues to jeopardize family life. It violates our Lord's teachings and prohibitions. I want to underline that no matter what challenges a marriage faces, happy endings are always achievable through love and communication. As a result, before choosing our everlasting
companion, we must consult with God to avoid going through the awful divorce that is becoming increasingly widespread in our culture.
I constantly keep in mind that those who divorce do it for the wrong reasons or, in some circumstances, to support their families. I know several of my friends who are going through this, and I know it's something

dreadful. Although it was challenging, one of my friends' families went through it, and in the end, they improved and became healthier. Divorce is terrible, but sometimes the only thing we can do is encourage and love the individual going through it. Family is very essential in the church, but during difficult times, we
must be that person's family.
