My Leadership Philosophy “No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship” Dr. James Corner I believe to be a leader is to prepare the young to help educate themselves throughout their life. My goals are to achieve to provide as an educational professional, empower and teach them to use the tools to understand to be productive, and to take ownership of different learning experiences. It is my goal to have students become lifelong learners. I am on a journey to accomplish these goals, I believe striving for efficiency, encouraging resourcefulness, and leading supportively will be the guiding principals for my decisions. Most importantly, I want to treat my people with respect, good communication, and accountability at all times. I can influence others by setting the tone for myself, classroom and my school. I will be mindful of who I am I how I address my colleagues, students, parents and other held stakeholders. As a team we will share leader ship within different settings. I declare to maintain consistent and equal classroom management. Having a class and individual social contract with our class and individual responsibility. I will engage in meaningful classroom activities and learning criteria and keep an active lesson plan. I have a high drive for student achievement and all students having the highest potential. Defend your philosophy with an understanding of leadership concepts and traits. Include information on the 6 leadership trait results (trait, ability, skill, behavior, relationship, and process) and how these traits translate into collaborative practices. Education and school are not only for wisdom and gained knowledge but it is also for the many connections we have within the different communities. How will I do this? I declare to maintain consistent and equal classroom management. Having a class and individual social contract with
our class and individual responsibility. I will engage in meaningful classroom activities and learning criteria and keep an active lesson plan. I have a high drive for student achievement and all students having the highest potential. Below I will explain my explanation of the 6 leadership traits. Trait- Finding and understanding each personality traits within each of my students is important for academic success. These traits tend to affect factors like student perceptions and their daily changing moods. Ability- Ability comes from a term called “The Mixed” was an ability to help promote greater equity amongst students. This theory helps to create qual expectations and an equal learning environment so that there are no kids left behind. Making sure all my students are learning the same material even on different pace and different learning tools but they are all learning to solve the problems to get the answer. Using things like collaboration and discussion, higher order thinking, and technology will give different abilities to use for greater outcome. Skill- Learning to work together to achieve a common goal based on behaviors. Behaviors such as active, social, being engaged, and being student owed helps. Sharing skills as a team will help improve the way my team works together and problem solve to help better our students’ learning capabilities. Behavior- To better understand each of my students’ behaviors I need to first understand both their school and home environments. Depending on each child’s environment they can act one way at home and act totally different in their school setting and vice versa.
Relationship- Building a bond and a steady relationship with my students helps build safety and comfort. When my students feel psychological safe, they will participate in class, ask questions, and be more engaged. Process- Once establishing and building a connective relationship and understanding each one of my students I will be able to move forward with the next steps with how each student will learn different approaches for learning and understanding the criteria. Group work and activities like pupils working and working with my students on the same level helps them to participate and engage.
