Lewis
- Letters 19-24
1. Many of these letters focus on pride. When does pride become dangerous and what can you
do to resist pride?
I think pride becomes dangerous when it starts glorifying man instead of God. I think too much
pride can lead to someone seeing themselves as superior and better than the people around them.
I think there are several ways to not be prideful, but I think the main way is to be humble about
yourself. This can look different from person to person. Some ways to be humble are being open
to new ideas, not taking yourself too seriously, or not comparing yourself/sucess to other people.
Jones

myself. However, I the more I’ve gotten to know Jesus and who He is, the more I’ve realized
who He calls me to be, and who He says I am. With this mindset, I replace whatever the world
has to say, with the truth in what Jesus has to say.
Drury
- Chapters 5 - “The Suffering, Death, and Burial of Jesus Christ” & Chapter 6 - “The
Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus”
1. How do you respond to the quote from the Televangelist to begin chapter 5?
I believe there is some truth within this, but it is not all truth. For instance, I do believe that God
wants us to prosper and have a successful life, but I don’t think that he wants those things
because it helps “avoid pain.” We are told in the Bible that there is no way of avoid pain, so I
don’t think that should be expectant. However I do think that God wants us to prosper and
succeed so that we can turn that back into glofirying and praising Him.
2. What does the resurrection provide for the follower of Jesus?
I think that the resurrection of Jesus Christ provides a sense of hope and freedom for the
followers of Jesus Christ. The sense of freedom is rooted in how those who believe, are set free
of their sin because of how Jesus lives. This allows us to be free in Christ and to freely share His
dearth and resurrection. This freedom also provides hope because since Jesus rose from the dead,
we see that death has been defeated through the resurrection.
