core of missionary work.” 4 They have devised techniques to help Christians overcome hurdles erected by their own and the host culture's cultural differences. Chang & Chang provide essential information to assist all believers, but especially missionaries, in gaining a thorough understanding of authentic intercultural communication as it applies to cross-cultural service. This paper focuses on five key concepts and/or lessons gleaned from the reading in order to give a critical examination of the content and application of the learned principles to participate in proper and effective Christian intercultural communication.
