Report
The environmental factors that in some way or another influence a person's health are known as social determinants of health. The neonatal mortality rate has recently dropped significantly across the board, and the reason for this is the advancement of knowledge in pregnancy and childbirth. Despite this, some regions continue to experience high rates of neonatal mortality as a result of traditional practices surrounding pregnancy or childbirth (Beinempaka et al., 2014). Global initiatives have now established the direction for maternal and newborn health for the ensuing ten years as well as the health and lives of future generations. These initiatives have also highlighted the necessity of maintaining and bolstering fundamental health services, such as high-quality maternal and newborn health care, to withstand epidemiological shocks and safeguard the lives and health of women and children, The World Health Organization has established a series of recommendations to increase maternal and newborn health interventions based on human rights principles, with the goal of strengthening early health care and working to address the socioeconomic determinants of health in that area. (World Health Organization, 2015) Lack of access to quality medical services, such as primary neonatal care, health promotion, disease prevention services (such as vaccinations), and treatment of common childhood illnesses, all contribute to a high mortality rate, along with poverty, malnutrition, a lack of access to safe drinking water and sanitation. The World Health Organization is working to develop programs that will contribute to the improvement of the situation in these places. Additionally, it organizes awareness campaigns, especially in areas where mothers and infants are still cared for according to customary practices. The World Health Organization Recommendation (2015), calls on both governmental and non-governmental organizations to support these causes and encourage engagement from all groups, including males. Q)- How successful are awareness efforts aimed at men, in your opinion, in educating them about the need of caring for mothers and children?
