Studies will be conducted in a range of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. Only original research findings derived from the collection or analysis of primary data will be accepted. Exclusion Criteria Studies that were published before 2011 will not be included in the review to guarantee its relevance. The review will concentrate on current studies over the last ten years. Studies that don't specifically look at how servant leadership affects nurse employees' motivation will be disqualified. Additionally, research without nurses or other healthcare professionals among the participants won't be taken into consideration. Studies that mainly concentrate on other businesses or professions outside of healthcare will be excluded from the evaluation, which will only focus on the nursing profession. Studies that are not accessible in English will also be disqualified. Studies that don't provide enough information or analysis on servant leadership and employee motivation will also be disregarded. Finally, to guarantee the quality and rigor of the research, the review will only consider studies that have been published in peer-reviewed publications. Keywords Servant leadership Employee motivation Nursing profession Healthcare leadership Job satisfaction Employee engagement Organizational culture Nurse-patient ratios Healthcare settings Peer-reviewed journals Literature Review In the literature, there has been a lot of discussion on how servant leadership affects employee motivation in the nursing profession. Greenleaf (1970) popularized the idea of servant leadership by highlighting how crucial it is for leaders to put the needs of their followers first. Numerous studies have looked at the connection between employee motivation and servant leadership in different circumstances. As an example, Brohi et al. (2021) looked at how servant leadership affects the ability to foresee turnover intention, psychological safety, and confidence in leadership. They discovered that compassionate leadership, a trait of servant leadership, had a favourable impact on these results. Qiu and Dooley (2019) established as well as validated a multidimensional measure of servant leadership in the Chinese hospitality sector. The studies they conducted shed light on certain aspects of servant leadership, such as empowerment as well as humility, that have an influence on employee engagement. In a similar vein, Ghufran Ali Khan et al. (2022) investigated the impact of genuine leadership, which is comparable to servant leadership, on performance in the healthcare industry. In the context of trust and member-leader interchange, their results revealed that genuine leadership positively improved individual
performance. James et al. (2021) reviewed the literature on values-based leadership in the field of nursing. They emphasized the role of values-based leadership, such as servant leadership, in fostering worker motivation and ethical nursing decision-making. In addition, der Kinderen et al. (2020) investigated how civility in the workplace and servant leadership has a role in promoting eudaimonic well-being in mental healthcare organizations. In accordance with their research, servant leadership improved employee well-being as well as established a healthy work environment. Conclusion In a nutshell the preliminary systematic study attempts to investigate the influence of servant leadership on worker motivation in the nursing industry. The literature study emphasizes the value of servant leadership in impacting the results and well-being of employees. Studies have shown that servant leadership traits of compassion and authenticity have a favourable impact on trust, psychological safety, turnover intention, and individual performance. Servant leadership, which is founded on values, encourages moral decision-making and employee motivation. Additionally, servant leadership supports improved well-being and a supportive working environment. However, further investigation is required to pinpoint the precise servant leadership attitudes and practices that have the greatest influence on nursing staff motivation. It is essential to comprehend the moderating influences, including organizational culture and nurse-patient ratios. For healthcare executives looking to improve staff engagement and well-being in the nursing profession, this thorough assessment will provide insightful analysis and suggestions.
