Identify as well as you can the three iron triangle constraints for this project: cost, time, and scope. The triple constraint of any project is the three significant restrictions on the project, and here are cost, time, and scope. Unfortunately for Friendly Assisted Living Facility, quality must be the most central theme. The other two constraints are risk and the benefits of taking on the project [ CITATION Dhi18 \l 1033 ] For Friendly Assisted Living Facility, their iron triangle for the project, cost, time, and scope are the main constraints as the cost of this project amounts to 8.5million dollars to 11 million dollars. Likewise, the project team is given just eight months to complete the redesign. The construction includes heavy and light-assisted units. Elderly patients living in the assisted facility require an enormous scope given the cost of living must be affordable, and the standard of living must be good. Since there is a hospital nearby the facility, adult children may send their parents to the facility allowing for recuperation or additional health care treatment. Identify the expected benefits of this project for Friendly Medical Center. Based on the current census, it is clear that the inpatient population may be steadily declining. The decline in patience impacts the income of the hospital. Having a facility inside the hospital premises has proven to be a steady income of 9K to 12K dollars per unit per year. Also, since the elderly patients are taken care of in the facility, most of them will be under the geriatric population. Therefore, the benefits include a steady cash flow and patients to the medical center. The risk I could foresee is that the medical center is reduced to a facility taking care of elderly people rather than inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Because the assisted living facility is non-profitable may be out of the question once the new facility starts. But with proper advertisement and word of mouth, these risks can be easily avoided. The stakeholders are fully supportive of the project, and there are no issues concerned with them. Comment on the strategic initiatives resulting from the Board's major strategic planning retreat. Would you consider this a productive retreat? The strategic retreat was productive for both efforts. Giving proper training to the supporting staff will help patients recover sooner and be given proper care. Also, because the assisted living facility is a non- profit organization, it is good to take care of the cost of delivering inpatient care. Also, creating a facility for children as pediatrics cannot be avoided in any medical center. Pediatric care may bring substantial income. If they also build a facility for pediatrics, children, and newborns who require specialized care. What “project selection” procedure was used here? How common do you think this is? How wise do you think it is? The project selection procedure used here is based on benefit measurement methods, and it comes under the Cost-Benefit Ratio. It clearly says the costs of investing in the project and the value of return once it is completed. Cost-Benefit Ration is commonly used but not that effective for a medical center. However, the cost-effectiveness model is a better recommendation as it shows how effective the method is in the long run. References Dhillon, H. (2018, Jun 27).
