Discuss anesthetic recovery from start to finish Define how an anesthetist should provide nursing care while a patient is in recovery. Identify the whys and hows for these steps. Identify what needs to be acquired prior to an anesthetic procedure and why Identify the potential causes for postposing an anesthetic procedure Identify what a technician should be observing about a patient and what they should be looking for prior to administering any preanesthetic Identify vital sign ranges for a patient under anesthesia and awake Medical calculations. Identify why we want to provide fluid support for our patients. Identify any pros/cons and adverse effects Describe all aspects to discussed anesthetic agents Study past quizzes Discuss pain in dogs and cats. Include how we can recognize that they are in pain. Discuss ways that we can provide pain relief to our patients. Discuss purpose of an IV catheter and how you would place it Discuss procedural sedation, why it is used, when it is used and the benefits for patients Discuss what needs to be obtained prior to an anesthetic procedure and why Discuss gowning and gloving.
