Reflection/Method on Code Selection. Describe in detail the steps/method you took to code the services and to ensure the services are coded correctly.
First, I looked in the Evaluation and Management area I was looking and reading all the headers on what this would be, I came across consultations and saw the only one that had the 30-minute span, and it was 99243. For the procedure one this one was a little more complex, so I looked up what IM was in the procedure note, since she only got the B-12 shot, and I came up with intramuscular injection. I looked it up in the index and it showed me therapeutic 96372and 99506. 99506 did not make sense for this particular
case and after reading 96372 it made
more sense for the case. For the HCPCS Drug Supply code I looked up in the index the specific medicine that was used which was Cyanocobalamin and it gave me codes 82607 and 82608 after reading
them is this didn’t state if it was unsaturated binding capacity or not. I
went with the one that didn’t have that description and that was
82607.
