Teacher Tips BSBPEF402 - Develop personal work priorities Project Assessment Part C Part 1: Product – Scenario (Part C) Using the Personal Work Schedule Version 2 from Part B, you will need to review the following changes to your chosen scenario. You will need to respond to the questions and submit your Personal Work Schedule Version 3. Your submission must demonstrate your ability to review your personal work priorities, including: seeking and evaluating feedback from relevant stakeholders on own work performance analysing variations between expected and actual work performance updating personal work schedule according to internal and external feedback and changes in circumstances. Use the scenario information below and the criteria listed on the Assessment checklist to guide your responses to the task requirements. Once completed, submit this assessment to your Teacher/Assessor for marking. Online students should submit the assessment via the TAFE NSW online learning platform. Scenario PART C Consider the following events based on your chosen scenario: Role Scenario/Brief/Project 1. Journalist The court case is its final week, and you are still required to submit an article a day, and you are also working on another assignment. Your editor has called you in for a debrief, as you have been a little bit late with meeting your deadlines. Key points of feedback from your editor include lateness with meeting deadlines, variety of sources for quotes and stories, and your ability to manage multiple assignments.
Role Scenario/Brief/Project 2. Podcaster Two of the interviewees you had lined up for the disability podcast series were unable to make the scheduled interview time, and there was no opportunity to re-schedule. You are also working on the other podcast series you promised your subscribers, and you are struggling with juggling the demands of both series. The disability services provider who has sponsored some of your interviews has asked to meet with you to discuss how the series has been received and to share some feedback they have received about the interviews. Overall, the interviews have been well- received, but some of the interviewees felt that some of the questions were a little bit inappropriate and confronting. 3. Film Director There have been issues with post-production (on finalising edits and with securing permissions on featuring some of the aged care residents in the documentary), and you are too late to show/launch the short film at the Aged Care Summit as originally intended. The Summit organisers have asked for a meeting to discuss the production and to consider how else to launch the documentary. Key points of feedback will be questions around why there were delays in obtaining permissions and the post-production delays, and exploration of how to monetise the documentary. 4. Arts Administrator The paintings have all arrived two days before the exhibition. There is at least four days of work that need to be completed in these two days. You have asked for a meeting with the Gallery Manager and Arts Manager to discuss how to manage all these tasks. You will be requesting for additional resources even though you know the budget for the launch is already stretched. Feedback from the managers will be on your ability to liaise with the shipping/delivery company and the delays with the delivery of the paintings.
Role Scenario/Brief/Project 5. Tour Manager The WA tour is on its last three shows. There have been an additional four shows put on (to the original 8 shows planned) because of great ticket sales. However, you have developed an ulcer as a result of all this stress and you are quite unwell. You need to meet with the comedy duo and the Executive Producer for the shows to discuss options for possibly completing the tour without you. You are aware that there has been some criticism with you agreeing to hold the additional four shows as it stretched everyone to capacity, and the production budget has also blown out by 20% - the additional shows therefore do not equate to as high a profit as expected because of this budget blowout. 6. Music Video Editor You are now in on location overseas on a music video shoot. The video footage from the artist who re-shot their music video has just arrived in your inbox, and they are begging you to complete the editing. The manager of the artist is also a long-term personal friend, and you are emotionally beholden to do the job, even though you are very busy with the on-location shoot. You have asked for a Zoom meeting with the artist and their manager to discuss options. You are also about to meet with the other two artists whose videos you have edited as they want to discuss the final edits to their videos. You know that you will be criticised for travelling to undertake this on-site job without completing all the music videos on your work plan, and that you will be asked to value personal over professional commitments to complete the job. 7.
