Time management: I overcame these challenges by making a thorough calendar, prioritizing assignments, and establishing acceptable due dates to ensure that all responsibilities are fulfilled on time. 2. Learning curve: This challenge I overcame by actively looking for chances to increase knowledge and abilities through independent study and practical experience, asking questions, and seeking guidance from employees. 3. Communication barriers: Overcame communication hurdles by listening carefully, asking for clarification when necessary, and changing up one's communication techniques to communicate with coworkers and superiors in an efficient manner. 4. Managing feedback: I overcame this Hurdle through using constructive criticism to enhance performance, seeing it as a chance for progress, and approaching it with an open mind. 5. Managing expectations and workload: I overcame this problem by assigning responsibilities wisely, asking for help when needed, and keeping lines of communication open with supervisors. Did you have any good and/or bad surprises during your WIL Externship? Good: Yes, a Copacabana employee had their birthday last week, and the entire staff including the owner cut the cake together. I liked that moment and took a picture of it with my phone and Luckly, I don’t think so I faced any bad surprises during my internship yet.
COOK444 / BAKE444 WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING CENTENNIAL COLLEGE 6 Notes: While working as a WIL extern at Copacabana Restaurant, I had several challenges in contrast to some nice surprises. When the whole crew got together to celebrate a worker's birthday, including the owner Jonathan Lieu, it was an especially special occasion. I was greatly affected by it since it showed the restaurant's great feeling of unity and teamwork. Luckily, my internship hasn't presented any unpleasant surprises, which has made for an overall enjoyable and educational experience.
