This is because the company looks to all members to consider ideas, as opposed to going to just the leaders or founders. Often than not, studies show that the most viable of solutions typically come from those working at the base/ bottom levels. Evidence shows this is because these employees are working the most hands-on with the

D081 Task 1
Attempt 1
When looking at the organizational structure this company is decentralized. With no hierarchy present information, I not required to travel in s specific path before reaching my destination. The impact of this is most prominent. ley seen in the discovery process. For example, if an issue presents itself, it does not have to work its way through all the various levels of management before getting noticed from one department to another. With doing this a streamline system is insured during resolution.
Strategic direction
The mission statement states that the newfound company wants to serve their customers in
the best and most growth potential ways via newly innovative technology. In the vision statement one can see just how committed to leading the sustainability industry the company really is. B1: Emerging Market Characteristics
One Emerging market characteristic is that specifically in agriculture and fishing are considered primary along the coast. In fact, the fishing industry serves roughly 6.56% of the export markets. Noting this is positive in terms od the origami boat will be introduced into a
steady and already established industry. Budding fisher men have a leg up in this specific industry due to the easy to use, low cost for potential growth.
Another beneficial characteristic that the laws particularly in India regulate and even favor production of products that will help in preserving the areas ecosystems. With the origami boat being non-motorized its carbon footprint is subsequently low. Th
e boat will be much more bio-degradable than other variations. The government will readily
welcome such an innovation into India. By creation of an economically friendly solution to the concern of preservation while creating a positive economic influx. B2: Product Design Change
Tailoring and expanding these fishing boats to be functional to a specific category of fishing would be the most ideal. By having a research team to gather information on boat size versus fish size would help in development of boat structure. The team would need to reach
out to various local fishermen to gather data on various breeds, strength, and capability of the types of fish in the local area. The company would than design various boat modifications based on quantity data received from the findings.
With the expansion of opening a new production plant in the strategic location of India the company would take another step in their commitment to sustainability. The company’s newfound production plant would be in the heart of a geographic area with this type of industry at the forefront. Supplies for production would be kept at not only a low coat but a

low transportation footprint as well. Employment to many local workers would help in boosting the nation’s economic standpoint. With the company able to stay on the good side
of the government they will subsequently be more willing to work and help the company in their path of development. Design thinking stages
1.
Empathize- The company will need to send reps to interact with the government employees
as well as local fisherman to gain knowledge on what works versus what doesn’t as well as to find where the gaps lie in the market. By shadowing fishermen who work with more than one breed of fish the representatives would be able to expand their knowledge of what essentials are needed and how to implement changes to making the process as effective as possible. The reps will then need to converse with government officials to find out the specific thresholds of sustainability and the future of the industry. 2.
Define- The company will need to sit down as a whole in order to lay out the order of importance. By looking at all information gathered from the government employees as well as local fisherman the company will then be able to determine which aspects should be coordinated into the plan first. 3.
Ideate-With what items are essential in the design determined the company will need to take into consideration all variables. They will proceed by looking various challenges as; cost, quality, gathering of materials. The company will need to consider all accommodations
needed to support the new changes both economically and sustainably. 4.
Prototype- The company would then need to create a final design plan and formulate a rough draft of the product to introduce to the market. This process will allow the company to gain a better understanding of cost and the process of creating the items. Streamline production would then become ever prevalent when taking into consideration the expansion of mass product production. All major kinks would become resolved during this step, that would have not been detectable prior to testing. 5.
Test- The company will use the test phase to send off the newly manufactured prototype for evaluation. Commissioning a small test group of fishermen to take protypes of for a test to see how they yield catches would be ideal. This would also give the company a chance to have the boat taken for test drive so that the fishermen can see how improvements can be made to a product.
6.
Implement- Finally the company would introduce the product to the market with all final adjustments made. With an established production location, distribution channels, and selling strategies in place. Marketing is the most imperative at this step. This is where the company will use ads, giveaways and other variations to sustain interest.
