Your Reflection
Implementation of the Practice Meets
: Identifies the
practice(s) you implemented and either thoroughly describes how they were implemented or shares why they were selected.
I am ending my weekly modules with a pre-
test that is untimed, and not worth any points for the upcoming week's content. I am choosing to do this so that I can ensure that my lectures for the week are hitting points that the students do not understand as well. Exceeds:
Includes both
an explanation
of how you implemented these practice(s) and
why they were selected.
Optional: I am going to have it set up so that they cannot access the next week's content until they take that pre-test. I feel that if I don’t do something like this, hardly any students will complete the short pre-test so my data will be skewed. Impact on Your Students or Teaching
Meets:
Shares how your use of the practice(s) impacted
your students or your teaching.
I just started this concept, and so far I have received 10/20 students' answers. I made an announcement regarding why we are starting
this mid-semester and how they will benefit from it. They seemed to take this in a positive light because they are completing it.
Exceeds:
Shares why this impact took
place.
Optional: During the last few weeks, the success rates of my tests have not been the best. The tests are timed for 30 minutes and consist of 20 multiple-choice/true-false questions. The answers to these questions can be found in the weekly lectures and PowerPoint. However, I feel that by doing this, I can ensure that my lectures are not wasted on content that students already know.
Next Steps
Meets:
Shares the steps you will take to
either refine your use of this practice or to implement a different practice from the module.
Once I begin to see my data, I will continue to
use this in more of my classes. I am starting this off in my online class that uses recorded lectures, but this would also work in my in-
person lectures as well. Sometimes I feel I am working hard to cover so much content that by doing this I can narrow it down and just focus the content. Exceeds:
In addition
to sharing the steps Optional: I already begin and end the semester with a pre-test and post-test to www.acue.org | info@acue.org

you will take, also shares the reasons you are taking these steps.
gauge their overall learning. But doing this will simply benefit me and them during the semester. This is something that I will have to do each semester though because each class will know a different learning point. www.acue.org | info@acue.org
