Identify the situations and issues discussed in the case studies. To address some of the issues that arise in the hectic lives of professionals, Sarah Winters founded her personal help company, Personal You, in 1997. According to Hall (2009), the term "personal" encompasses services like food delivery, housekeeping, childcare, and even manual labour. The department manager in this situation informs HR Director Alyssa Williams and Human Resources Manager Gary Garcia that background checks are necessary for all workers, which raises the first worry. A second issue was discovered by branch manager Violet Jennings, a former Jackson Tibbits employee who was listed on Florida's sex offender register (Hall, 2009). Jennings, Garcia, and I must decide whether to throw Jackson's case out based on the most recent information. Analysis of the situation I have been the director of human resources at your Tampa, Florida-based company, Personal Inc., for more than seven years. Although the company handles some HR-related concerns, such salaries, top management takes the initiative and defers to judgement when it comes to internal HR affairs. The branch and corporate offices now follow the same recruitment process. Each applicant completes a standard application, provides supporting documentation, is subject to a background investigation, and has their employer references and criminal histories checked (Franke et al., 2012). When it originally began, though, this was not the case, and many high-ranking employees never passed a background check. The fact that employees deal with children,
parents, and vulnerable individuals when working in customers' homes makes this challenge even more challenging. Be aware of issues that could lead to legal problems. The current court dispute might be the first to mandate background checks for all new and current employees because long-term employees may face discrimination when terminated. However, failure to adhere to this approach could result in legal problems for the company, such as Jackson Tibbits-style lawsuits or customer complaints (Sarokin, 2020). Choose the right HR plan. We need to set up a system for that, and at the recommendation of the department head, the personnel chief and I will review all employee ID cards as a first step. Gary, Violet, and I were forced to see Jackson Tibbits the witch's second act based on the information given. Jackson is free to continue not working outside of school or in a position requiring interaction with weak people because, should the company fire Jackson, it will be accused of discrimination by HR (US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, n.d.). Fair treatment at work is defined as equity and justice in relation to monetary remuneration, benefits, allowances for disabilities, vacation time, and paid time off.
