You have now become more familiar with Canada's justice system and are more aware of your
rights. In this final activity, you will be studying a case where justice was not served - a person
who was wrongfully convicted of a crime he/she did not commit.
You will be responsible for researching a case and preparing a report on what you have learned.
You may work individually or in pairs
, you cannot work in groups.
Your report may be in the form of a written report or a visual presentation (poster, pamphlet,
etc.). Whichever method you select you need to include the following information:
a picture of the person wrongfully convicted
a description of why he/she was found guilty (this may include a description of the evidence,
what happened at the trial, etc.) Be Detailed in this section!
who helped the person
if the person was later found innocent, why he/she was freed
if the person is still in prison, what is being done to free her/him.
